World’s Largest Inclusive Playground

A groundbreaking new play space has been recognised as the world’s largest inclusive playground, offering an accessible, engaging environment where children of all abilities can play, explore and interact together. The expansive facility is the centrepiece of the Park Circle Reimagined redevelopment project, attracting families, visitors and community supporters from near and far.

The Park Circle Playground spans approximately 55,000 square feet, making it the largest inclusive playground in the world designed so children with diverse physical, sensory and developmental needs can enjoy play alongside their peers. The space includes a wide variety of play elements, from wheelchair‑accessible swings and ramps to sensory‑friendly features, shaded areas and interactive activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.

City officials and designers say the playground was built with the goal of ensuring that “everyone is invited to play” regardless of mobility or ability setting a new global standard for inclusive play spaces and community recreation.

The playground is part of a larger $20 million investment in the Park Circle community, which also includes community buildings, event space, green areas and walking trails. Its opening has been celebrated as a major milestone in inclusive design innovation and community engagement.

Families and disability‑advocacy supporters have praised the facility as a model for future playgrounds everywhere, where children of all backgrounds can play together with dignity, joy and freedom.
