Pram-Pushing Mum Sets 50km World Record

Mother-of-two Chloe McNiven, 35, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting the Guinness World Record for the Fastest 50 km pushing a pram (female). Completing the ultramarathon distance in a confirmed time of 4 hours, 50 minutes, and 48 seconds on the Goodwood Motor Circuit, Chloe was accompanied for the entire 31-mile journey by her 10-month-old son, Lake.

The record, which was recently verified, is much more than a sporting achievement for Chloe. She views the success as a personal victory and a means to create a positive legacy for her children.

“My baby was absolutely brilliant,” Chloe told the BBC, noting that baby Lake happily “googoo gaga’d” for the first part of the run, took a nap, and woke up just in time for the finish. She hopes the story will inspire Lake to believe that “I set a world record” when he grows up.

Chloe’s passion for pram-running began after the traumatic birth of her first child, five-year-old daughter Soul. She found that running became a powerful tool to combat postpartum depression and forge a deep bond with her baby.

“It’s just you and your baby… There’s something about the pace that brings peace,” she said.

The former professional dancer, who previously performed with global stars like Elton John and Nicki Minaj, was also motivated by a desire to “rewrite” her own story, having overcome a challenging childhood. Through her record run, Chloe raised money for charities Mind and Impact London Collective, which support women affected by trauma.

“I’m just a random mum, 10 months postpartum, and I just set a world record. That’s kind of cool,” Chloe stated, adding that the most rewarding part has been inspiring other women to take up running with their children.
