Renowned Bollywood playback singer and dedicated philanthropist Palak Muchhal has etched her name in the Guinness World Records for an extraordinary feat of humanitarian service. The artist, celebrated for her melodious hits, has received global recognition for financially supporting over 3,800 life-saving heart surgeries for underprivileged children across India and beyond.
Muchhal’s remarkable achievement is a testament to her lifelong mission, which began in her childhood. Through the Palak-Palash Charitable Foundation, run in conjunction with her brother, Palash Muchhal, she channels a significant portion of her concert earnings and personal savings towards funding medical interventions for children suffering from congenital heart defects.
Palak Muchhal’s journey of compassion was sparked at a young age when she encountered impoverished children on a train journey. Moved by their plight, she made a silent promise to use her gift of music to make a difference.
Her commitment has been unwavering. In 2013 alone, she raised over ₹2.5 crore, enabling 572 children to undergo necessary operations. Her dedication has also been acknowledged by the Limca Book of Records and numerous national recognitions for social service.
“We try to get the most urgent cases done first,” Palak Muchhal has often stated about her mission. “When shows don’t happen, we use our savings to ensure surgeries for our foster children continue.”
Even as her musical career soared with chart-topping songs like Meri Aashiqui, Kaun Tujhe, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Palak never let her philanthropic work take a backseat.
