The city of Liuyang, long renowned as China’s “Fireworks Capital,” has dramatically redefined aerial entertainment, setting two new Guinness World Records with an unprecedented drone and pyrotechnics display. The show seamlessly blended traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, captivating millions on-site and online.

The historic event, part of the 17th Liuyang Fireworks Cultural Festival, proved the city’s commitment to innovation, pushing the boundaries of synchronized light and fire.

The ambitious performance, titled “A Firework Belonging to Me,” secured two major world records verified by Guinness:

Most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) Airborne Simultaneously Controlled by a Single Computer: A staggering 15,947 drones took to the night sky, creating immense, dynamic 3D formations, including a glowing “Sky Tree” and a giant flower, setting a new record for synchronized control.

Most Fireworks Launched by Drones in Flight: During a separate segment, a fleet of 7,496 drones carried and launched fireworks simultaneously, more than doubling the previous global record for this complex maneuver.

The sheer scale of the display required millisecond-level precision, achieved through an advanced intelligent program control system. The show was a collaboration between local pyrotechnic experts and drone technology developers, integrating the art of firework bursts with the exact choreography of the drone light arrays.

The visual spectacle was described as looking “straight out of a sci-fi film,” with golden fireworks cascading from the towering drone-formed “Sky Tree,” creating a breathtaking waterfall of light. The fusion of 16,000 digital pixels with thousands of traditional pyrotechnics demonstrated a “next level” approach to aerial shows, garnering global attention, including a repost from tech billionaire Elon Musk.
