Berkshire Nursery Owner Sets World Record with Giant Celeriac

Curtis Leach, owner of the Wargrave Plant Nursery Centre, has dug his way into the record books by growing the world’s heaviest celeriac.

Weighing in at an astonishing 14lb 8oz (6.6kg), Leach’s colossal root vegetable smashed the previous world record of 13lb 15.3oz (6.3kg). Remarkably, the former record-holder was none other than Leach himself, further cementing his status as a champion grower.

His achievement was officially recognised this week when he received a Guinness World Records certificate, confirming his leafy legacy.

“I just can’t resist the challenge of growing plants,” said Leach, beaming with pride. Not one to rest on his roots, he now has his sights set on growing a record-breaking giant squash.

With his green thumb and unwavering dedication, Leach continues to inspire gardeners across the UK and beyond.
