Warwickshire Choir Breaks Guinness World Record as Oldest in the World

A heartwarming performance during a Christmas carol concert has officially earned The Prime Timers, a group of spirited senior singers from Warwickshire, the Guinness World Record for the world’s oldest choir.

With an average age of 94, the 17-member choir, drawn from seven care homes across the county, took to the stage at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon, singing their way into history. Their ages range from 87 to 99 years old, surpassing the previous record held by St John’s House choir in York since 2013.

The festive event was made even more special with a guest appearance by legendary singer Tony Christie, and hosted by actor Sian Reeves, a passionate advocate for the therapeutic power of music.

“This is more than just a record—it’s a celebration of life, community, and the joy music brings at any age,” said Reeves.

The Prime Timers’ record-breaking moment serves as a powerful reminder that age is no barrier to achieving greatness, especially when harmony and heart come together.
