“Record for Most Canvas Bags Painted with Indian Folk Art in a Single Day”

In a vibrant celebration of India’s rich artistic heritage, Dayanand College of Ajmer has set a new record for painting the maximum number of canvas bags with Indian folk art in a single day. A dedicated team of 20 students, supported by three faculty members, along with the principal and vice principal of the college, completed the remarkable feat by artistically transforming 401 canvas bags on April 15, 2023.

The record-setting initiative showcased the beauty and diversity of traditional Indian folk art forms such as Pithora, Madhubani, Warli, Madana, Sanjhi, and Gond. Each bag became a canvas for cultural expression, painted meticulously by hand to highlight the distinctive patterns and stories rooted in India’s folk traditions.

College officials confirmed the achievement, which not only aimed to promote folk art but also emphasized the importance of sustainable practices by using eco-friendly canvas bags as the medium.

Speaking on the occasion, the principal of Dayanand College remarked, “This initiative is a tribute to India’s folk art legacy and a step towards environmental consciousness. By combining tradition with sustainability, our students have set an example of creativity and commitment.”

The event has drawn praise from art enthusiasts and educational circles, turning the spotlight on the role of academic institutions in preserving cultural heritage while advocating for green practices.
