Mother India’s Crochet Queens (MICQ), a collective of women artisans from India, has achieved their sixth Guinness World Record by creating the world’s largest display of crochet squares. This remarkable accomplishment was officially recognized in May 2025, highlighting the group’s dedication to both craftsmanship and community empowerment .
The record-setting display featured 100,581 individually handcrafted crochet squares, each measuring 10×10 inches. These squares were meticulously arranged to form a vibrant and expansive installation, showcasing the collective effort and artistic talent of the participants .
Founded by Smt. Subasri Natarajan, CEO of Vaigai Engineering Pvt Ltd in Tamil Nadu, MICQ has grown into a global network of over 6,000 members. The organization utilizes social media platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook to coordinate activities, share creations, and support each other in their craft.
