Bugatti Restores Historic Pre-Series Veyron Super Sport World Record Edition

Luxury automaker Bugatti has completed the restoration of a historic pre-series version of the legendary Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the model that once set a world speed record for production cars.

The restoration project was carried out at the company’s headquarters in Molsheim, France, where Bugatti engineers carefully rebuilt and preserved the car that played a key role in achieving the record recognized by Guinness World Records.

The Veyron Super Sport made headlines when it reached a top speed of 431 km/h (267 mph) during official testing, setting a benchmark for production vehicles at the time. The pre-series car used during development was instrumental in refining the engineering that made the record possible.

During the restoration, Bugatti specialists returned the vehicle to its original technical condition while preserving the unique components used during its record-setting era. The project highlights the brand’s commitment to maintaining its engineering heritage.

Automotive enthusiasts say the restoration celebrates one of the most iconic milestones in modern hypercar history, when the Veyron pushed the limits of speed and performance.
