Teen Speedskating Phenom Jordan Stolz Sets New World Record in 1,000m

American speedskating sensation Jordan Stolz etched his name into the history books on Friday by setting a new world record in the men’s 1,000-meter event, clocking 1 minute 5.37 seconds at the Utah Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City.

The 19-year-old reigning world champion, known for his explosive speed and calm composure under pressure, shattered the previous record of 1:05.69, set by Russia’s Pavel Kulizhnikov at the same venue in February 2020.

The record-breaking moment took place during a World Cup race, and Stolz’s performance was met with thunderous applause and awe from fans and fellow athletes alike.

“This is just the beginning,” Stolz said following his incredible feat. “I’ve trained hard for this moment, and to see it come together on the ice is unbelievable.”

Stolz, who took the world by storm with three titles at the 2023 World Championships, continues to redefine the limits of what young athletes can achieve, and is now one of the brightest stars in international speedskating.
