Indian ultra-cyclist Preeti Maske has achieved an extraordinary feat, setting a new World Ultra Cycling Association (WUCA) World Record for the Fastest India West-to-East Crossing by Standard Bicycle (Female) (Solo). Maske completed the grueling journey in an incredible 13 days, 18 hours, and 38 minutes.
Beginning her epic ride from the Koteshwar temple at Narayan Sarovar in Gujarat, Maske pedaled relentlessly across the vast expanse of India. Her monumental journey concluded at Kibithu, Major Bipin Rawat Dwar in Kibithu, Arunachal Pradesh.
Over this challenging route, Preeti Maske covered an astonishing 2,457 miles (3,955 kilometers), maintaining an impressive average speed of 7.43 mph (11.96 kph). Her achievement showcases immense physical and mental fortitude, navigating diverse terrains and weather conditions across multiple states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh.
