World’s Longest Chocolate Structure

Chocolate train sculpture has officially been recognised as the world’s longest chocolate structure by Guinness World Records. Crafted with incredible precision and patience, this edible wonder delighted chocoholics and record‑seekers alike.

Created by Maltese chocolate artist Andrew Farrugia, the chocolate train stretches an astonishing 34.05 metres (111 ft 8 in) in length, making it the longest sculpture ever made entirely from chocolate. The stunning piece was unveiled at the Brussels South railway station on 19 November 2012, where it immediately captured global attention and celebration during Brussels Chocolate Week.

Farrugia spent hundreds of hours meticulously building the sculpture, which consists of intricately detailed carriages, from steam locomotive fronts to modern rail cars, all expertly modelled in rich Belgian chocolate. In total, more than 1,285 kg (2,832 lb) of chocolate was used enough to satisfy millions of chocolate‑lovers’ dreams.

The project wasn’t just about size it was a tribute to craftsmanship and creativity, showcasing how an everyday material like chocolate can be transformed into an awe‑inspiring work of art. Visitors to the station were treated to both visual delight and a reminder of Belgium’s world‑renowned chocolate heritage.

Watchers described the scene as a whimsical fusion of art and confectionery, and videos from the day show crowds gathering around the long chocolate train as it stood proudly on display. The record continues to be one of the most deliciously captivating entries in the Guinness annals.
