Italian gelato artisans have captured global attention by creating the world’s largest ice cream cone, a towering dessert that measured an incredible 2.81 meters (9 ft 2.63 in) tall and weighed over 70 kg. The feat was unveiled at the Rimini Gelato Festival and officially recognised by Guinness World Records.

The record-breaking cone was constructed by a team led by master gelato makers Mirco Della Vecchia and Andrea Andrighetti. Over 30 hours, they carefully built a massive wafer base, added five giant scoops of creamy gelato, and reinforced it with 700 kg of white chocolate to ensure the structure’s stability. The entire creation was assembled in a cold storage chamber to prevent melting during construction.

This monumental achievement highlights Italy’s gelato tradition and showcases the artistry, engineering, and teamwork required to craft such a gigantic dessert. Thousands of festival-goers and photography enthusiasts flocked to witness the towering cone up close.
