The 14th Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2026, organised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Centre, has made global headlines by setting **two new Guinness World Records, marking a hat-trick of record-breaking achievements for the event over three consecutive years.
Held under the evocative theme “Bharat Ek Gatha”, the spectacular floral festival is more than an exhibition it is a vibrant narrative of India’s cultural heritage, national unity, and modern progress through artistic floral installations.
This year’s records include the world’s largest flower mandala and the world’s largest flower portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, both recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records following precise measurements and official surveys.
The flower mandala, created at the Sabarmati Riverfront, was measured using DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) technology, revealing a diameter of approximately 33.6 metres and an area of 886.789 square metres far exceeding the previous benchmark of 706.86 square metres.
In addition, the flower portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel a tribute to the leader’s legacy of national unity measured 41.17 metres in length, 8 metres in width, and covered an area of 329.360 square metres, surpassing the earlier record minimum of 50 square metres. These achievements continue the event’s remarkable streak following previous Guinness recognitions for the longest flower structure in 2024 and the largest flower bouquet in 2025 and have elevated Ahmedabad’s profile on the global stage.
Inaugurated on January 1, 2026 by Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, the show will be open to the public until January 22, 2026, and features immersive zones that explore India’s ancient traditions, mythological heritage, cultural diversity, dance forms, and contemporary achievements. A unique celebration of art, culture, and innovation, the Ahmedabad International Flower Show has firmly established itself as a global festival of floral creativity and national pride.
