Smriti Mandhana Becomes Fastest Woman to 10,000 International Runs

Indian star batter Smriti Mandhana has once again rewritten the record books, becoming the fastest woman in international cricket to score 10,000 runs across formats. The historic milestone was achieved during the 4th T20 International against Sri Lanka on 28 December 2025 at the Greenfield International Stadium.

Mandhana reached the landmark in just 281 innings, surpassing the long-standing record previously held by former India captain Mithali Raj, who took 291 innings to reach the mark. This remarkable feat places her among an elite group of batters — only the fourth woman in history to score 10,000 international runs, joining Raj, Suzie Bates (New Zealand), and Charlotte Edwards (England). The 29-year-old left-hander showcased her class with a fluent 80-run innings off 48 balls in the match against Sri Lanka, contributing to India’s commanding total and helping the team secure a 4-0 series lead. Her innings included powerful hitting, with 11 fours and three sixes, underlining her status as one of the premier batters in world cricket.

This latest milestone adds to a phenomenal year for Mandhana, who also became only the second Indian woman to cross the 10,000-run mark and continues to dominate across all formats of international cricket.. Mandhana’s achievement not only celebrates her consistency and longevity at the crease but also highlights the growing impact of women’s cricket on the global stage as stars like her continue to elevate the sport to new heights.
