World’s Longest Murano Chandelier Unveiled in Bucharest Hotel

Romania has claimed another spot on the global stage as Bucharest becomes home to the world’s longest Murano glass chandelier, a breathtaking masterpiece that has officially entered the Guinness World Records. Installed inside one of the city’s most luxurious hotels, the chandelier stretches an extraordinary 67 meters, stunning visitors with its scale, craftsmanship, and artistic precision.

The record-breaking installation is crafted entirely from authentic Murano glass, handmade by master artisans from the world-renowned Murano island in Venice, Italy. Combining centuries-old Venetian artistry with modern engineering, the chandelier now stands as one of the most striking interior design achievements in Europe.

An Illuminated Work of Art Composed of over 42,000 individual glass elements, the chandelier flows like a river of crystal across the hotel’s grand central lobby corridor. Its vibrant colours—gold, sapphire blue, emerald green, and crystal clear—reflect under warm lighting, creating a visual spectacle for guests.
Chief designer Marco Bellini, a celebrated Murano artisan, shared his pride in the achievement:
“This chandelier isn’t just a lighting piece—it is a symbol of precision, beauty, and the endless possibilities of Murano craft. We are honoured that Bucharest now houses one of the most extraordinary Murano creations ever built.”

The chandelier is expected to significantly boost the hotel’s status as a luxury destination, attracting art enthusiasts, tourists, and architecture lovers from around the world. Industry experts predict that the installation will set a new trend in high-end hospitality design across Europe. Romanian Tourism Board spokesperson Adriana Vasile said, “Hosting the world’s longest Murano chandelier places Bucharest among global luxury capitals. It adds cultural value and strengthens Romania’s presence in international tourism.”

The engineering and installation process took nearly 22 months, involving artisans and structural engineers from Romania and Italy. Key statistics include: 67 meters total length, 42,000+ hand-blown Murano glass pieces, over 50 tons of structural support, Laser-guided alignment technology for precision installation, and 120 lighting modules integrated along the structure. Guinness World Records verified the chandelier’s dimensions and craftsmanship before awarding the title.

Since its unveiling, the chandelier has become the hotel’s signature attraction, with visitors gathering daily to photograph and admire the record-setting installation. Its shimmering presence has transformed a simple hotel corridor into a world-class art gallery. Romania’s latest world record once again proves the country’s growing influence in art, architecture, and luxury design.
