Panthers Equipment Manager Sets Guinness World Record by Wearing Hundreds of Jerseys at Once

A long-time equipment manager for the Florida Panthers has skated his way into the record books — not with a hockey stick, but with sheer determination and a mountain of jerseys.

Mark “Sully” Sullivan, the beloved Panthers equipment manager known for his sense of humor and dedication to the team, has officially set a Guinness World Record for wearing the most hockey jerseys at once. The record attempt took place at the Panthers’ training facility in Sunrise, Florida, where teammates, staff, and fans gathered to cheer him on.

According to Guinness World Records officials, Sullivan successfully wore 347 jerseys simultaneously, surpassing the previous record by a comfortable margin. The event turned into a festive celebration, complete with live commentary, music, and plenty of laughter as each additional layer was carefully added.

“It started as a fun idea in the locker room,” Sullivan said after completing the challenge. “The guys joked that I handle so many jerseys every day, I might as well wear them all — so I decided to actually try it. I never thought it would turn into a world record!”

Each jersey represented a different player from the team’s history, making the record-breaking moment a nostalgic tribute to the Panthers’ three-decade journey in the NHL.

Team captain Aleksander Barkov praised Sullivan’s effort, saying, “Sully is the heart of this locker room. He’s always there for us, and seeing him take this crazy idea and make it a world record — that’s just classic Sully.”

Guinness officials confirmed the attempt met all record verification criteria, including continuous layering, verified counting, and official witnesses present on site.

As Sullivan basked in the applause, he joked about the aftermath: “Let’s just say I won’t need my gym workout for the week — those jerseys weigh more than you’d think!”

The Panthers organization plans to display one of the record-breaking jerseys, signed by players and staff, in the team’s arena to commemorate the quirky but memorable achievement.
