In an electrifying showdown at the Jaipur Polo Ground, Team India pulled off a sensational 10–9 victory over Argentina, one of the world’s most formidable polo nations, reclaiming the spotlight for Indian polo on the global stage.
The high-octane final saw India come from behind after trailing by a goal, before sealing the win in the final seconds — a finish that had the Delhi crowd on its feet.
Led by Captain Simran Singh Shergill, an Arjuna Awardee and one of India’s most respected polo figures, the team — featuring HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, Syed Shamsheer Ali, and Siddhant Sharma — showcased fearless teamwork and tactical brilliance. Their opponents, Argentina’s star players Juan Augustin Garcia Grossi and Alejo Aramburu, brought world-class skill and speed to the field, but India’s resilience proved unmatched.
The match marked the return of high-goal international polo to Delhi after nearly a decade, and fittingly, the glory stayed home.
“This win isn’t just about one match — it’s about the resurgence of Indian polo,” said Captain Shergill after the victory. “We played with heart, trust, and belief — and that made the difference.”
