India has achieved a massive health milestone, clinching three Guinness World Records under the nationwide “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” (Healthy Woman, Empowered Family Campaign). The records were set for unprecedented levels of participation in digital health registrations and screenings, marking global recognition for India’s focus on preventive and women-centric healthcare.
The campaign, led by the Union Health Ministry, was conducted between September 17 and October 2, 2025, coinciding with Poshan Maah (Nutrition Month), and reached every district in the country.
The three records highlight the sheer scale of mobilization and the successful integration of digital platforms into public health outreach:
- Most people to register for a healthcare platform in one month: Over 3.21 crore (32,149,711) registrations were recorded.
- Most people to sign up for a breast cancer screening online in one week: Over 9.94 lakh (994,349) registrations.
- Most people to sign up for vital signs screening online in one week (at state level): Over 1.25 lakh (125,406) registrations.
This achievement reflects the success of the “Whole-of-Government” and “Whole-of-Society” approach, with over 20 ministries, institutions, and millions of community members participating.
The ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ was focused on improving the health and nutrition of women, adolescent girls, and children. Beyond the record-setting registrations, the campaign organized over 19.7 lakh health camps, which saw a total footfall exceeding 11 crore on all healthcare platforms.
Key health outcomes from the drive included:
- Over 1.78 crore hypertension screenings.
- Over 1.73 crore diabetes screenings.
- Over 62.6 lakh Antenatal Care check-ups.
The Union Health Ministry stated that this global recognition is a testament to India’s collective effort in combining government systems, digital health innovation, and community participation to build a “Healthy Woman, Empowered Family, and Viksit Bharat (Developed India).”
