India’s First-Ever Full-Course Dine-In Cinema Redefines Movie Experience

The cinematic experience in India has been radically redefined with the launch of the country’s first-ever full-course dine-in cinema by PVR INOX at the new M5 ECity Mall in Bengaluru. The innovative concept seamlessly merges gourmet dining with the immersive movie-watching experience, transforming the multiplex into a complete lifestyle and entertainment destination.

The ‘dine-in cinema’ allows patrons to enjoy chef-curated meals directly from the comfort of their in-seat dining areas, eliminating the need to step out of the auditorium for food. This format is a bold move by PVR INOX, which claims the experience is where “blockbuster films meet gourmet dining.”

The new property goes beyond standard cinema snacks by featuring a full range of in-house food and beverage brands, each specializing in a different culinary category. Guests can choose from a diverse menu that caters to every taste:

  • Crosta: Specializing in artisanal pizzas and baked delights.
  • Dine-In: Offering in-seat gourmet meals for a luxury hospitality experience.
  • Steamestry: Serving healthy, light, and flavourful steamed delicacies.
  • Wokstar: Focusing on quick, stir-fried Asian comfort food.
  • Local Street: Bringing authentic regional cuisine to the multiplex.

Other brands like Cine Café, In-Between, Frytopia, and Dogfather ensure a wide array of coffees, burgers, wraps, hotdogs, and indulgent fried foods are also available.

The dine-in cinema is equipped with cutting-edge technology to ensure the movie experience is not compromised by the dining service.

All auditoriums feature 4K Laser projection integrated with advanced audio systems like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, promising superior visual and acoustic quality. The property is designed with a ‘Youthification’ approach, incorporating lounge-style foyers and gaming zones, aiming to attract younger, digital-first audiences by creating a social hub that extends beyond the screen.

PVR INOX Managing Director Ajay Bijli noted that the launch is an invitation to experience cinema in an entirely new way, bringing immersive technology and thoughtfully curated food experiences under one roof. The success of this pilot project in Bengaluru is expected to pave the way for similar integrated cinema-dining formats across other major Indian cities.
