Dubai Unveils the World’s Longest Handmade Gold Chain – Crafted in Just 45 Days!

The “City of Gold” has once again cemented its reputation on the global stage, as Dubai unveiled the “Dubai Celebration Chain,” officially certified by Guinness World Records as the World’s Longest Handmade Gold Chain.

In a stunning display of artisanal skill and rapid production, a team of over 100 dedicated craftsmen worked around the clock for just 45 days to bring this monumental project to life.

The final masterpiece measures an astonishing 5.522 kilometres (over 3.4 miles) in length, surpassing the previous world record by a significant margin. Crafted from 22-carat gold, the chain weighs approximately 256 kilograms and is composed of more than four million individually linked segments.

The creation was a collaborative effort by the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group and was the centerpiece of celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).

The speed and scale of the project are what truly sets this record apart. Completing such a colossal piece of intricate, handmade jewellery in only 45 days underscores Dubai’s world-class capabilities in the gold industry.

“It was a challenging and painstaking task, but we are immensely proud to add another unique world record to Dubai’s list of achievements,” said a spokesperson for the project team. “The handmade nature of the chain, with each link individually connected by our dedicated artisans, makes this a triumph of human skill and determination.”

Following its public display, the historic Dubai Celebration Chain was later separated into smaller pieces—necklaces and bracelets—and sold to the public, allowing residents and visitors to own a verifiable piece of this record-breaking golden history.
