Trio Lands World’s Longest Cornhole Shot with Slingshot After 12-Hour Marathon Attempt

A trio of friends has turned a backyard game into a world-record-breaking feat, landing the longest-ever cornhole shot with a slingshot from an incredible distance of 46.025 meters (151 feet). The Guinness World Record was officially set by Luke Lorick, Garrett Smith, and Joel Strasser at Meridian High School in Idaho after an excruciating 12 hours of attempts.

The three men spent half a day flinging a beanbag across the Meridian Waters football field, enduring the heat and the challenge of aiming for the small, 6-inch diameter hole on the cornhole board. Their perseverance and collaborative effort paid off, and the moment the bag dropped into the hole was met with pure jubilation. Video of the record shows the men cheering, screaming, and running to the target in disbelief.

Joel Strasser, a “serial record-breaker” known for his unique feats of putting various items in his bushy beard, teamed up with Luke Lorick and Garrett Smith, who have their own history of record attempts. Their collaborative spirit and shared love for backyard games led to this remarkable achievement, which has now been featured on ESPN and other major media outlets.
