“Tashkent Students Break World Record with 1,946 Robots Assembled Simultaneously”

In a powerful tribute to its rich scientific heritage, Uzbekistan has secured a new Guinness World Record for the most people assembling robots simultaneously. A total of 1,946 students came together in Tashkent, the capital city, to accomplish the feat, breaking the previous record held by India.

The event, hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, was designed to inspire a new generation of engineers and innovators. It was held in the symbolic birthplace of pioneers like Al-Khwarizmi, the 9th-century “father of algebra,” and Mirzo Ulugbek, the 15th-century “father of astronomy.”

The record-breaking attempt saw 1,946 participants successfully assemble a small, functional robot within a 30-minute time limit. Each participant was tasked with building a wheeled robot that had to be capable of picking up small objects to meet the stringent guidelines of Guinness World Records.

This achievement surpasses the previous record of 1,459 participants, which was set by India’s Vijnana Bharati in 2023. The success of the event is a testament to Uzbekistan’s commitment to investing in science and technology education for its youth, providing a significant boost to its standing on the global stage of innovation.
