Saudi Superfan Sets Record with Largest Walking Dead Memorabilia Collection

For fans of the post-apocalyptic television series The Walking Dead, the passion for the show often extends beyond the screen. For Rashid Al-Olayan, a superfan from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, that passion has led to an official Guinness World Records title for the “largest collection of The Walking Dead memorabilia.”

His impressive collection, which consists of a staggering 3,053 different items, earned him the record on August 16, 2024. Al-Olayan has dedicated a significant portion of his home to this unique “museum,” which showcases a vast array of items from the TV series and its comic book origins.

The collection is a comprehensive tribute to the franchise, featuring everything from toys, books, and games to statues, artwork, and even autographed items. Among the most prized pieces are screen-worn costume items, which serve as a tangible link to the characters he has followed for years.

In an interview with Guinness World Records, Al-Olayan expressed his deep connection to the series. “I believe The Walking Dead franchise is the best out there,” he said. “Who doesn’t love a zombie show? It’s the perfect show for me.” He also added that the characters’ relatability and the emotional rollercoaster of the show are what keep him hooked.

Al-Olayan’s journey as a collector began in 2015 with a simple set of action figures. Since then, his dedication has grown, and he has spent countless hours searching for unique items to add to his ever-expanding collection. He confessed, “As long as there are some pieces that I don’t have, I’m going to aim to get them all. My goal is to get every single thing and I won’t stop until I achieve it.”
