Saudi Jeweler Sets Guinness World Record with World’s Heaviest Gold Dress

The Saudi Arabia-based Al Romaizan Gold and Jewelry Company has officially etched its name into the record books, receiving the Guinness World Record for the world’s heaviest gold dress.

The stunning masterpiece, named the ‘Dubai Dress’, was unveiled to dazzled crowds at the Sharjah Watch and Jewellery Expo pavilion.

The record-breaking creation weighs an astounding 10.0812 kilograms (over 10 kg) and is crafted entirely from pure 21-carat gold. The dress is currently valued at AED 4.6 million, which translates to approximately ₹11 crore.

Inspired by authentic Emirati heritage, the ‘Dubai Dress’ is actually a four-piece ensemble featuring intricate decorations and precise engravings:

  • Necklace: The heaviest component, weighing 8,810.60 grams.
  • Golden Crown: Weighing 398 grams.
  • Hiyar (Waist Ornament): Weighing 738.5 grams.
  • Earrings: Weighing 134.1 grams.

Company officials stated that the piece is more than just jewelry; it’s an artistic statement that “highlights Dubai’s position as the premier destination for gold and jewelry enthusiasts and celebrates Emirati craftsmanship.” The extravagant piece is the latest showstopper from Al Romaizan, which previously displayed a gold bicycle worth AED 1.5 million at an earlier edition of the show.

The record certificate was formally presented to the company during a special ceremony at the Expo Centre Sharjah, marking a new pinnacle in the region’s luxurious gold industry.
