West Sussex kite surfer Jake Scrace has etched his name into the record books after setting a new world record for the highest-ever “tow up.”
Scrace was pulled a breathtaking 1,587 ft (487 m) into the air by a paramotor before gliding back down in a perfectly executed descent above the Needles, off the Isle of Wight. His achievement smashed the previous record of 908.7 ft (277 m).
The daring stunt was months in the making, with meticulous planning by Scrace and paramotor pilot Chey Anich, supported by a dedicated team of 30 people, including safety divers and film specialists, ensuring every detail was covered.
Speaking after his record-breaking feat, Scrace said: “I’m already thinking about what the next stunt could be and where we can go with it.”
The record-breaking flight not only showcased Scrace’s courage and skill but also highlighted the teamwork and precision required for such extreme sports milestones.
