Prepare to be amazed. Aaryan Shukla, a 14-year-old math prodigy from Maharashtra, India, has cemented his status as a “human calculator” by breaking an incredible six Guinness World Records in a single day. The young genius achieved the stunning feats during a recent competition in Dubai, showcasing a mental speed that is truly breathtaking.
Aaryan first gained international attention for his mind-bending abilities on the Italian TV series Lo Show Dei Record, where he set a record for the fastest time to mentally add 50 five-digit numbers in just 25.19 seconds. This incredible feat averages out to one addition every half-second—a speed that leaves even modern technology in the dust.
But for Aaryan, that was just the beginning. He has been training for five to six hours a day to push the limits of what the human brain can do. His recent trip to Dubai was a test of that dedication, and he didn’t disappoint.
The records Aaryan broke include:
- Fastest time to mentally add 100 four-digit numbers: 30.9 seconds
- Fastest time to mentally add 200 four-digit numbers: 1 minute, 9.68 seconds
- Fastest time to mentally add 50 five-digit numbers: 18.71 seconds (improving his previous record)
- Fastest time to mentally divide a 20-digit number by a 10-digit number: 5 minutes, 42 seconds
- Fastest time to mentally multiply two five-digit numbers (set of 10): 51.69 seconds
- Fastest time to mentally multiply two eight-digit numbers (set of 10): 2 minutes, 35.41 seconds
When asked about his process, Aaryan describes it as instinctive. “A lot of things in mental calculations happen in a flash of a second, so I cannot say what happens inside my head,” he explained. “Basically, it’s so fast that you can’t think; you just need to do the calculations.”
Aaryan’s incredible journey began at age six, and he is already a two-time winner of the Mental Calculation World Cup. His recent record-breaking performance has earned him praise from global leaders, including Indian industrialist Anand Mahindra, who was so impressed he asked Aaryan to reveal his technique. The secret, Aaryan says, is a method called “Flash Anzan,” which is rooted in the traditional abacus system.
Aaryan Shukla’s achievements are a powerful reminder that with dedication and passion, the human mind is capable of extraordinary things.
