Australian Farm Launches the World’s First Camel Milk Vodka

In a move that is both a testament to sustainability and a new frontier in the spirits industry, an Australian farm has launched the world’s first-ever camel milk vodka. The groundbreaking spirit, developed by Summer Land Camels, is crafted from camel milk whey, a byproduct that is typically discarded during the cheese-making process.

The farm, located in Queensland’s Scenic Rim, collaborated with a local craft distillery to create the unique vodka, which is a key part of their “whole-animal, no-waste” farming philosophy. The vodka is triple-distilled to retain its smooth character and is then either bottled as is or matured in French oak barrels with local honey to add depth and notes of caramel.

According to Summer Land Camels, each bottle of the vodka prevents the waste of around three liters of camel milk whey, turning what was once a waste product into a valuable resource. The finished spirit offers a smooth, creamy mouthfeel and a subtle sweetness that distinguishes it from traditional grain-based vodkas.

The innovative beverage is available in small batches, with a limited-edition French Oak Matured version also on offer. This unique product not only showcases the farm’s commitment to eco-conscious practices but also opens up a new, unexpected category in the world of alcoholic beverages.
