World’s Tallest Cat Celebrates World Cat Day in Style

In a celebration of all things feline, the world’s tallest domestic cat, Fenrir, is seeing in World Cat Day in style with a special gift from his devoted owner, Dr. Will Powers. The towering cat, a Savannah breed, stands at an impressive 18.83 inches (47.83 cm), a height that has earned him the Guinness World Record for the tallest living domestic cat.

Fenrir’s remarkable stature is even more impressive considering his family history. His late brother, Arcturus, still holds the all-time record for the tallest domestic cat. The feline family is also home to Altair, a Maine Coon, who holds the record for the longest tail on a living domestic cat at 16.07 inches (40.83 cm).

In honor of World Cat Day, Powers unveiled a one-of-a-kind, record-breaking gift for his pets: the tallest residential cat-scratching tower. The unique climbing frame, which is also a Guinness World Records title holder, was custom-built to accommodate Fenrir’s immense size and his family of record-breaking felines.

“I’m a cat dad, that’s just where my priorities are at,” Powers told Guinness World Records. “They give their whole lives to us, and I have always felt like they deserve to be treated in return with the utmost care and priority.”

The “cat dad” has dedicated a section of his home to his pet cats, who have collectively garnered a massive online following on Instagram (@starcats_detroit). Fenrir, who often accompanies his owner to his medical practice as a therapy cat, is a testament to the extraordinary bond between humans and their pets and a symbol of how unique passions can lead to truly memorable achievements.
