NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. traded his stock car for an electric go-kart to help RPM Raceway Long Island set a new world record. The Chevrolet driver was given the honor of completing the ceremonial first lap around the longest multi-level Go-Kart track (indoors), an impressive track that stretches 1,071.6 meters (3,515.7 ft).
The record-breaking track officially opened on May 6, 2025, after a multi-million-dollar renovation of the Farmingdale, New York facility. The new two-story layout features three distinct tracks with more than 40 different turns and can be combined to form the record-setting “MegaTrack.”
While he’s used to the high speeds of professional racing, Stenhouse Jr. is no stranger to go-karting, having started his racing career on small tracks. He was on hand to challenge attendees to beat his unofficial lap time and celebrate the new record.
“It’ll be fun. I’ve walked the track but I haven’t been on it yet,” Stenhouse said shortly before stepping into the kart. “There are a lot of corners to memorize in a short amount of time, but it should be a lot of fun.”
The achievement was officially certified by Guinness World Records adjudicator Andrew Glass, who presented the official certificate to RPM Raceway’s CEO, Andrew Farage. The new track not only provides a thrilling experience for racing fans but also serves as a testament to the growth and excitement of motorsports in the United States.
