Mexico Sets World Record with Largest Stir-Fry, Serving Over 13,000 Tacos

In a delicious display of community spirit, hundreds of hungry festivalgoers in Guadalupe, Nuevo León, have earned a place in the record books by creating the world’s largest stir-fry taco. The event, held on June 22, 2025, saw local chefs and organizers cook a massive stir-fry on a specially designed pan to serve over 13,000 tacos.

The official Guinness World Records title for the largest stir-fry was awarded after organizers from the municipality of Guadalupe prepared an incredible 4,374 pounds (1,984 kg) of Taco de discada, a traditional northern Mexican stir-fry. The dish was cooked on an absolutely gigantic pan with a diameter of over 20 feet, a spectacle that drew cheers from the crowd.

The event was a celebration of local culture and gastronomy, with organizers aiming to showcase the rich culinary traditions of the region. The team of more than 50 chefs worked tirelessly to prepare and cook the dish, which included beef, bacon, sausage, and a medley of fresh vegetables, all seasoned to perfection. The stir-fry was then served on thousands of fresh tortillas to create the record-breaking tacos.

“This is not just about a record,” said a city official. “It’s about bringing our people together, celebrating our heritage, and sharing a meal with our neighbors. This event is a taste of what makes our community so special.”

The record not only provides a new title for Mexico but also serves as a testament to the power of food to unite people. For the festivalgoers, the day was a joyful and memorable experience, proving that a little creativity and a lot of tacos can lead to a truly delicious world record.
