Germany is set to witness a new wave of record-breaking as the new show “Die große Show der Weltrekorde” (The Big Show of World Records) airs on Sat1 this weekend. The show, which launched on Friday night and continues on Saturday, features a series of high-stakes attempts at new Guinness World Records titles.
Adding to the on-air excitement, a live-streamed endurance challenge on the streaming platform Joyn is taking place over 24 hours. A record hopeful is attempting to beat the impressive record for the most arm wrestling matches in 24 hours. The current record of 1,024 victories was set by Romanian champion Ion Oncescu in 2012.
The show is bringing the thrill of record attempts to a live studio audience for the first time in Germany in many years. Co-hosted by Michelle Hunziker and Jörg Pilawa, “Die große Show der Weltrekorde” promises an action-packed spectacle, featuring everything from athletic feats to quirky demonstrations of mental agility. The series is produced by Banijay Germany’s Good Times production company.
