Coca-Cola Superfan Reclaims World Record With 5,623 Memorabilia Items

A lifelong passion for the world’s most famous soft drink has once again earned Debbie Indicott of Lenoir, North Carolina, a Guinness World Record. In a thrilling comeback, the Coca-Cola superfan has reclaimed her title for the largest collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia with a verified count of 5,623 unique items.

This marks the third time Indicott has held the prestigious record. She first achieved the title in 2020 with 2,028 items and expanded her collection to 5,070 by 2023. Her reign was short-lived, however, as fellow American collector Jeffery S. Fouke Jr. surpassed her later that year with 5,237 items.

Undeterred by the loss, Indicott, who is also the president of the North Carolina state club of the National Coca-Cola Club, continued to build her collection, meticulously adding new items to her home, which is a museum-like shrine to the brand.

Indicott, whose love for the brand began with its iconic red color, says her collecting journey started in 1990 after a trip to a Coca-Cola themed diner in Las Vegas. She returned home with a rotating sparkling lamp, her very first piece, which she carried on her lap to ensure its safety.

Her collection now includes a vast array of unique items, from vintage signage and old-style bottles to rare advertising materials, including a set of 188 National Geographic adverts. She says her favorite items are the “Sublom Santas,” a series of Christmas ads that appeal to her background as an art teacher.

The successful reclaim of her record is a testament to Indicott’s enduring dedication and a friendly rivalry that has pushed the boundaries of what it means to be a superfan.
