Canadian Speed Eater Mike Jack Smashes Carolina Reaper Record

Canadian competitive eater and YouTube sensation Mike Jack has once again scorched the record books, setting a new Guinness World Records title for the fastest time to eat 25 Carolina Reaper chili peppers. The “Mike Jack Eats Heat” star completed the fiery feat in just 4 minutes and 36.26 seconds.

The Carolina Reaper, developed by Ed Currie of the PuckerButt Pepper Company, was the world’s hottest chili pepper for many years, with a Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) rating that can top 2.2 million. While the newer Pepper X now holds the top spot, the Reaper remains a daunting challenge for even the most seasoned spice lovers.

This latest record adds to Jack’s impressive list of accomplishments, which includes multiple Guinness World Records for eating super-hot peppers and a variety of other food challenges. Fans can follow his spicy adventures on his popular YouTube channel, “Mike Jack Eats Heat.”
