In a grand cultural celebration, Canada today unveiled a majestic 51-foot statue of Lord Ram at the renowned Hindu Heritage Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, marking a historic moment for the global Hindu community.
The towering statue — the tallest of Lord Ram in North America — was inaugurated in a vibrant ceremony attended by thousands, including Canadian ministers, Indian diplomats, spiritual leaders, and members of the Indo-Canadian community. Traditional chants, bhajans, and aarti rituals set a spiritual tone for the unveiling, which many hailed as a symbol of harmony, faith, and cultural pride.
Crafted by Indian artisans and shipped in parts to Canada, the fiberglass and bronze structure depicts Lord Ram in his iconic pose, with bow in hand and a serene yet powerful expression. The statue is designed to withstand Canadian weather and will serve as a permanent spiritual and cultural landmark.
“This statue is more than an artistic marvel — it represents the timeless values of dharma, courage, and unity,” said Rajesh Sharma, Director of the Hindu Heritage Centre. “It is a tribute to Canada’s multiculturalism and the deep-rooted contributions of the Indian diaspora.”
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in a message read at the event, called the statue “a powerful emblem of diversity, inclusion, and shared heritage.”
The installation coincides with growing recognition of Hindu Heritage Month in several Canadian provinces and reflects the increasing presence and influence of Indian culture abroad.
