Chennai-based space tech startup Agnikul Cosmos has made history by developing and securing a US patent for the world’s largest single-piece 3D-printed rocket engine. The groundbreaking engine, designed to power the company’s Agnibaan launch vehicle, eliminates the need for hundreds of assembled parts, significantly reducing manufacturing time and increasing reliability.
This innovation marks a major milestone for India’s private space sector, showcasing its ability to compete globally in cutting-edge aerospace technology. The engine was produced at Agnikul’s state-of-the-art facility inside ISRO’s campus at Sriharikota and represents a leap toward cost-effective and rapid launch capabilities.
