The Government of India has conferred the prestigious Padma Shri on Shri Gurvinder Singh from Haryana, recognizing his exceptional dedication and impact in the field of Social Work.
A passionate humanitarian and changemaker, Shri Gurvinder Singh is widely known for his tireless efforts to uplift the underprivileged through community kitchens, educational support, disaster relief, and healthcare initiatives. His selfless service has touched the lives of thousands, especially in rural and low-income areas of Haryana.
Shri Singh is the founder of multiple social welfare campaigns that provide free meals, winter clothing, blood donation drives, and education for children from marginalized communities. His work is rooted in compassion and inclusivity, inspired by the Sikh principle of “Sarbat da Bhala” — the welfare of all.
What began as a small local initiative has grown into a wide-reaching network of volunteers and supporters across Haryana and neighboring states. His response during natural disasters and public crises, including pandemic relief work, has been especially lauded for its speed and efficiency.
Speaking on receiving the honour, Shri Singh said, “Service is my duty and my calling. This award is a reminder that kindness and unity can transform lives.”
Social activists, community leaders, and citizens have celebrated the recognition, describing him as “a quiet force of hope and humanity.”
By awarding the Padma Shri to Shri Gurvinder Singh, the nation honors a life devoted to serving others and building a more just and compassionate society.
