In a landmark celebration of talent, inclusivity, and determination, the Navjeevan Society for Research and Rehabilitation for Mentally Handicapped set a national record by organizing the largest musical play performed by intellectually disabled individuals.
Titled ‘Krishan Leela’, the 50-minute musical masterpiece brought to life the inspiring journey of Lord Krishna — from his miraculous birth in Mathura to the epic events of the Mahabharata War. A total of 70 intellectually disabled participants mesmerized the audience with their powerful performances, heartfelt expressions, and artistic excellence.
The record-breaking event not only showcased their extraordinary abilities but also sent a strong message about acceptance, empowerment, and the transformative power of the arts. The achievement was officially confirmed on October 18, 2024, and has been hailed as a historic step in inclusive cultural representation.
Navjeevan Society’s initiative is being widely applauded for breaking barriers and redefining the perception of disability by proving that ability shines brightest when given a stage.
