In a remarkable fusion of faith and healthcare, India’s largest kidney dialysis hospital is now fully operational at Gurdwara Bala Sahib in Delhi, offering completely free dialysis treatment and meals to patients regardless of background, caste, or religion.
The state-of-the-art facility, run under the guidance of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), has become a beacon of hope for thousands suffering from chronic kidney disease who are unable to afford expensive treatment.
The hospital houses more than 100 dialysis machines, offering high-frequency treatment for patients from across Delhi, NCR, and even neighboring states. On average, over 500 patients per day receive dialysis services, making it the busiest charitable dialysis facility in the country.
In true Sikh tradition of seva (selfless service), the hospital also provides free meals (langar) to patients and caregivers. The combination of medical care, compassion, and nourishment reflects the Gurdwara’s mission to serve humanity in its entirety.
S. Harmeet Singh Kalka, President of DSGMC, stated:
