Dubai to Build Moon-Shaped Mega Resort by 2027—Taller Than the Burj Khalifa

Dubai is once again reaching for the stars—literally. In a jaw-dropping announcement that has stunned the world of architecture and tourism, the city has unveiled plans for a moon-shaped resort that will be taller than the iconic Burj Khalifa, currently the tallest building on Earth.

Set for completion by 2027, the upcoming futuristic structure, called MOON Dubai, will resemble a giant, glowing lunar sphere, redefining luxury, innovation, and ambition. The colossal project will feature:

  • 4,000 luxury suites
  • 300 exclusive private residences
  • A lunar surface replica for simulated moonwalk experiences
  • A space-themed nightclub, wellness center, and sky observatory
  • A capacity to host millions of tourists annually

Designed by Moon World Resorts Inc., the structure aims to rise more than 830 meters, surpassing the Burj Khalifa’s 828-meter height, making it the tallest man-made structure upon completion.

“MOON will not just be a resort — it will be an entire experience, merging fantasy with futuristic engineering,” said co-founder Michael R. Henderson. “Visitors will feel like they’ve stepped onto another world.”

With Dubai already home to the world’s tallest tower, an indoor ski slope, and man-made islands, this moon resort adds to its ever-growing list of architectural marvels.

A vision of luxury. A symbol of ambition. A moon on Earth — only in Dubai.
