A group of enthusiastic students and staff from Beaulieu School have officially become Guinness World Record holders, after participating in a massive global cook-along led by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver that taught over 10,000 young people how to cook pasta and tomato sauce from scratch.
The record-breaking event, held on July 1, brought together students from 42 countries across six continents, uniting them in kitchens and classrooms for a simultaneous culinary experience. Fifteen students from Beaulieu took part in the event, which has now been officially recognised as the largest cookery lesson held in multiple venues by Guinness World Records.
The lesson was live-streamed from the Jamie Oliver Cookery School in London, where two professional chefs guided participants through the recipe while Jamie Oliver himself moderated the session, offering cooking tips and encouragement along the way.
Using fresh ingredients, students learned how to prepare homemade pasta and tomato sauce — an essential recipe that aligns with the goals of Oliver’s 10 Skills Programme, which aims to teach young people practical cooking and budgeting skills for everyday life.
“It was so much fun, and I’ve never made pasta from scratch before,” said one of the Beaulieu students. “Now I feel confident I can do it on my own!”
Some students enjoyed their freshly cooked meals for lunch, while others proudly took their dishes home to share with family.
The school community celebrated the recognition, calling it a memorable moment of global learning, teamwork, and culinary empowerment. With thousands participating around the world, the event not only made history but also inspired a generation to take the first step into cooking confidently and creatively.
