Arijit Singh Awarded Padma Shri for Outstanding Contribution to Indian Music

Celebrated playback singer Shri Arijit Singh, known for his soulful voice and genre-defining impact on contemporary Indian music, has been conferred the Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian awards in India, in the category of Art.

Born in Murshidabad, West Bengal, Arijit rose to fame after his breakout hit “Tum Hi Ho” in 2013 from the film Aashiqui 2. Over the past decade, he has become the most sought-after voice in Bollywood, delivering back-to-back hits like “Channa Mereya”, “Kesariya”, “Raabta”, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”, and “Jhoome Jo Pathaan”, among countless others.

Known for his versatility and emotive singing style, Arijit has been honored with multiple Filmfare Awards, IIFA Awards, and National Film Awards. He is also the most-streamed Indian artist globally and continues to dominate platforms like Spotify and YouTube.
