In a historic event today, the world’s tallest Vishnu Vishwaroopa statue was unveiled in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The statue, towering at an impressive 108 feet, represents Lord Vishnu in his universal cosmic form—a powerful symbol of divinity and protection in Hinduism.
Crafted from a single 420-tonne monolithic stone, the statue stands at the newly inaugurated Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple complex in the heart of the city. The project, initiated by the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple Charitable Trust under the leadership of Dr. B. Sadanand, took over a decade to complete, with sculptors and artisans from across India contributing their skills to bring this vision to life.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by thousands of devotees, dignitaries, and spiritual leaders from renowned mutts in Karnataka, who performed rituals including homas, havans, Prana Prathistha, and the Mahakumbabishekam—marking the statue’s official consecration.
“This statue is not just an architectural marvel but a testament to our devotion and unity,” said Dr. Sadanand, highlighting the significance of the project. “It’s a symbol of India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.”
The Vishnu Vishwaroopa statue is expected to become a major pilgrimage and tourist destination, offering a place of worship, inspiration, and reflection for generations to come.
