To promote awareness about the conservation and well-being of the endangered Asiatic lions, the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd (TCGL) in Gandhinagar has unveiled the world’s largest Asiatic lion pride cubic sculpture at Ambardi Safari Park, Khodiyar Dam, Dhari, Gujarat.
The grand sculpture boasts remarkable dimensions: the base stretches 165 feet in length and 68 feet in width, while the lion and lioness sculptures, positioned tail to tail, span an impressive 92 feet in width. The lion sculpture alone stands 31 feet tall and measures 60 feet from nose to tail, while the lioness sculpture stands 21 feet in height with a 46-foot nose-to-tail length. Adding to the grandeur, two cub sculptures measure 9.6 feet in height with a 16.5-foot nose-to-tail length and 8.6 feet in height with a 22-foot nose-to-tail length, respectively.
Crafted using durable Ferrocement material, the sculpture was designed and installed by Anand Tike and Mayur Vakani in collaboration with Amit Fibre Decor from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The record-breaking project highlights Gujarat’s commitment to wildlife conservation and tourism promotion, offering visitors an awe-inspiring tribute to the majestic Asiatic lions.
