On the occasion of World Tourism Day and the Himachal Apple Festival 2019, the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Shimla, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism H.P., created a record-breaking apple cake that wowed the attendees.

Measuring 4 feet by 3.5 feet and weighing over 200 kg, this massive cake was prepared using 60 kg of refined flour, 30 kg of butter, 1,000 eggs, 30 kg of royal apples, 30 kg of chocolate, 10 liters of apple crush, and approximately 10 liters of fresh cream.

The grand event was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Jai Ram Thakur, at the Amphitheatre Gaiety Heritage Cultural Complex, Shimla, on September 27, 2019.

This unique celebration showcased the region’s rich apple heritage and highlighted Himachal Pradesh as a premier tourist destination, uniting culinary arts with local produce in a delicious and memorable way.
