World Record: Longest Car Expedition by a Quadriplegic Promoting Disability Advocacy

In a groundbreaking journey that blended advocacy, adventure, and inspiration, Boniface Prabhu, a celebrated quadriplegic wheelchair tennis player and Indian Paralympian, along with Murali Rao of Bangalore and Debabrata Mukherjee of Gurgaon, has set a new world record for the “Longest Car Expedition by a Person with Disability (Quadriplegic).”

Undertaking the remarkable Thums Up Veer K2K by Boniface Prabhu initiative, the trio covered an astounding 6,743 km from Kashmir to Kanyakumari between November 6 and December 7, 2016. The journey carried the powerful message of “Advocacy, Inclusion, Integration, and Engagement of People with Disabilities,” aimed at promoting sign language in India and encouraging the unleashing of every individual’s potential.

The record-setting expedition stands as a shining example of resilience, unity, and the spirit of empowerment that drives the disability rights movement forward.
