he family of Sylvia Pope, affectionately known as “Nanna Baubles” and holder of the world record for the largest collection of festive baubles, has announced her passing at the age of 80. Her death leaves a “huge void” in their lives, with loved ones stating that Christmas “will never be the same.”
Mrs. Pope, from Swansea, was a beloved figure, renowned for her extraordinary collection of 1,760 Christmas tree ornaments. Her dedication to the festive season was legendary; with a birthday on Boxing Day, she would begin adorning her home with her vast array of decorations as early as September, transforming her residence into a winter wonderland.
Granddaughter Claire Bennett expressed the profound grief felt by the family: “Nanna was a legend in her own right. She was our matriarch and the pillar of our family. Christmas will never be the same again.”
Ms. Bennett continued, “She will be forever loved by anyone who was lucky enough to know her. She will be dearly missed.”
