Hundreds of young skaters rolled into the record books as Geoff Else, a professional skateboarder and coach from Winchester, led what is believed to be the world’s largest skateboard lesson.
Held at Kings’ School, the event saw 360 pupils take part, aiming to break the current Guinness World Record of 311 people set in 2012 in California.
Else, who co-founded Team Rubicon with his brother 18 years ago to promote skateboarding across the UK, said the attempt was born from a desire to “do something slightly different” and unite his passion for teaching with a major global milestone.
“Seeing that many young people on skateboards all learning together — it was a powerful moment,” Else said. “This wasn’t just about records, it was about inspiring the next generation.”
The official count and evidence have been submitted to Guinness World Records, and the team now awaits confirmation. If approved, the effort will cement Winchester’s place in skateboarding history.
