Tyre-Flipping World Record Attempt Halted by Injury, But Spirit Remains Unbroken

A determined record-breaking attempt by Will Fraser-Coombe, 28, came to an abrupt end after he suffered a suspected torn bicep while flipping a 100kg tyre in a marathon endurance challenge for mental health awareness.

Will set out to flip the heavy tyre a staggering 26 miles (42km) over a weekend, taking only 20-minute breaks, in support of bigmoose, a mental health charity. His challenge aimed to smash the existing world record of 11km in 24 hours.

Starting strong, Will managed to flip the tyre for an impressive six miles (10km) before injury struck in the early hours of Sunday.

“It was the hardest thing I ever attempted,” he said, reflecting on the grueling effort cut short by the injury.

Despite not reaching the finish line, Will’s dedication and drive to raise awareness for mental health have been widely praised. His effort has already helped spark vital conversations and inspired donations to support bigmoose’s work in suicide prevention and mental wellbeing.
