St Edward’s Prep Students Spell Out World Record with 3,325 Plastic Bottles

Pupils from St Edward’s Prep in Reading have officially earned a Guinness World Record, demonstrating an impressive feat of environmental awareness and collective action. The children successfully spelled out the powerful message “There is only one Earth” using an astounding 3,325 recycled plastic bottles.

The record-breaking effort took just 45 minutes to arrange, smashing the previous record of 2,560 bottles set in Dubai, UAE, in August 2020.

Headmaster Jonathan Parsons expressed immense pride in the students’ achievement. “We are so excited to have achieved the record, but most importantly for how far our message has reached,” he stated. “Within all of our studies we encourage the children to apply their learning and take action to make the world a better place.”

Parsons emphasized the broader impact of the initiative. “It shows the children that their voice is important and that we can work together to make a difference,” he added. “As the statement says, there is only one Earth, and it is our children’s as well as ours.”

The record attempt not only served as a fun and engaging activity but also reinforced the school’s commitment to environmental education and empowering young voices to advocate for sustainability.
